BCAnoe Points System

The idea of BCAnoe points system is to increase participation in canoe and kayak races and reward outstanding paddlers.

The BCAnoe points system is a competition to identify the following awards recipients in the following categories:

Male Paddler of the Year

Female Paddler of the Year

Junior Paddler of the Year

Rookie Paddler of the Year

Men’s Solo paddler of the Year

Women’s Solo Paddler of the Year

Most Improved Paddler

Special Recognition Award

All paddlers will earn points toward their respective category. Any paddler who has been disqualified are not eligible for points.

A Junior paddler is considered to reach the age of 18 in the current paddle calendar year.

To receive the solo paddler award, paddler must paddle all races alone (except for where other racing organizations rules consist of more than one paddler).  All members will receive points from those races and will count towards this award, ONLY if those races are endorsed by BCAnoe.

Points shall be awarded as follows:  8 points / 1st place, 7/2, 6/3, 5/4, 4/5, 3/6, 2/7, 1/8, 1/9, 1/10 in all categories as describe in the BCAnoe race rules. Only paddlers who complete the race will be awards points.

Any paddler participating in any BCAnoe river Clean-Up shall receive 8 points, the equivalent of a first place finish.

Any paddler participating on our Patriotic Paddle and finished in Belize City depending on their start location shall receive the following points.

Start in Flowers Bank - 10 points

Start in Burrell Boom - 5 points

Start in Ladyville - 3 points

Started but did not finish in Belize City - 2 points

Any senior or experienced paddler that assists in any training program authorized by BCAnoe shall received 10 points.

Any team that assist another team in the absence of a safely boat shall receive an additional 5 points for sacrificing their time and better placement in support of good sportsmanship.

Paddlers must display good sportsmanship at all times.

In case of a tie, winner will be decided on an individual time trial basis.

Only members of the BCAnoe are eligible to received points, only registered boats can be used.

Awardees will be announced at the general meeting.



News Flash

Canoe Registration

The Coast Guard will be assisting BCAnoe with canoe registration and life jackets / PFD inspection. This is to ensure that your life jackets and / or PFDs are serviceable. This will be done at the time of registration of your canoe. Only inspected life jackets and/or PFD that have been tagged will be able to be worn during our events.


Articles and Race Rules

At the Members Meeting held on November 24, 2012. Those present decided to accepted the Articles of Association and the 2013 Race Rules as was presented!.  Both are available on the site.
